“A perfect image is a rare moment when all elements align- the light, the composition, the gesture, the expression. You, as a photographer, are not there. you, as a photographer, become a channel for the extraordinary moment that is in front of you.”

-Miki Iwamura
Miki Iwamura was born in Japan and raised in Tokyo and New York. Her formative years have developed a strong foundation for diversity, which eventually led her to various corners of the world with a camera. For her, travel is about learning and observing nuances and traditions.

“My aim is to photograph the spirit of the moment and place, as is, without judgment, and bring awareness to what we overlook or unaware of.”

Iwamura's projects are driven by a belief in respect, empathy, and perceiving through a multi-perspective lens, despite existing differences.
Her photographs have been exhibited in the United States and abroad, in online publications, and small print publications.
